Position Summary
The Assistant Network Engineer will support the planning, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of fiber optic and IP network infrastructure. The successful candidate will assist in ensuring network stability, performance optimization, and efficient troubleshooting across operational environments, including data centers and field deployments.
Key Responsibilities
Network Design & Deployment Support
- Assist in the design, planning, and implementation of fiber optic network infrastructure, including FTTx and GPON networks.
- Support the configuration and provisioning of network equipment such as OLTs, routers, switches, and related devices.
- Participate in network rollout and expansion projects to ensure timely and efficient deployment.
- Provide technical support during network installation, upgrades, and integration activities.
Network Operations & Maintenance
- Monitor network performance and ensure optimal uptime, reliability, and service quality.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Support routine maintenance activities for fiber optic and IP network infrastructure.
- Assist in managing and optimizing IP network operations and configurations.
- Contribute to preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
Data Center & Infrastructure Support
- Monitor data center operations to ensure system stability and performance.
- Provide general IT and network support as required within infrastructure environments.
- Assist in maintaining server, network, and communication systems within data center facilities.
- Support infrastructure upgrades and configuration changes when required.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare technical reports on network performance, incidents, and resolutions.
- Support documentation of network diagrams, infrastructure layouts, and operational procedures.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with technical standards and operational guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in network administration, IT infrastructure support, or a similar technical role.
- Strong understanding of fiber optic networks, IP networking, and telecommunications systems.
- Experience working with routers, switches, OLTs, and network monitoring tools.
Added Advantages
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate or other relevant cloud/network certifications.
- Basic knowledge of power systems or electrical installation within technical environments.
- Experience in FTTx, GPON, or large-scale telecom infrastructure projects.
