We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-oriented Group Logistics and Procurement Manager to lead the Group’s logistics, procurement, and supply chain operations. Position Summary
The Group Logistics and Procurement Manager will provide strategic leadership for all logistics, freight, procurement, transportation, warehousing, inventory, and supply chain activities across the Group. The successful candidate will develop and implement best-in-class logistics strategies, strengthen procurement governance, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead high-performing teams that support business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- Lead the planning and management of all import and export operations across the Group.
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies that improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and cost performance.
- Evaluate and continuously optimize logistics, procurement, and supply chain processes across all business units.
- Monitor supply chain performance against established key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Freight, Shipping and Port Operations
- Ensure timely shipment, customs clearance, and delivery of goods while minimizing delays and avoiding port penalties.
- Lead all freight procurement and tender processes, ensuring compliance with established timelines and corporate standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs authorities, carriers, and logistics service providers.
- Negotiate competitive freight and logistics contracts that deliver value to the business.
Procurement Governance
- Partner with Divisional Vice Presidents and the Internal Audit function to develop, implement, and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls across the Group.
- Promote transparent, compliant, and cost-effective procurement practices that align with corporate governance standards.
- Oversee vendor selection, evaluation, and performance management to ensure reliable service delivery and value for money.
Inventory, Warehousing and Distribution
- Plan and oversee the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of vehicles, spare parts, Canon products, and other company inventory.
- Develop logistics processes that optimize inventory management while minimizing operational costs.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure effective stock control across all business units.
- Collaborate with Sales and Parts teams to improve demand forecasting and reduce supply chain risks.
Operational Excellence
- Monitor the quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency of logistics operations and storage facilities.
- Utilize data analytics and operational insights to support strategic decision-making and improve business performance.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the vehicle import and logistics industry.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation, customs, procurement, and regulatory requirements.
Leadership and People Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics and procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Build organizational capability by coaching team members and encouraging professional development.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- A Master’s degree, such as a Master of Business Administration (MBA), is highly desirable.
- Professional certifications in supply chain or logistics management are strongly preferred, including but not limited to:
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) from the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM).
- Logistics Management Professional (LMP) certification.
- Ghana Customs Proficiency Certificate.
- A minimum of 15 years’ post-bachelor’s professional experience in logistics, shipping, supply chain management, transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and port clearance operations.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale logistics and procurement functions within a complex organization.
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, freight management, import and export procedures, and procurement governance.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High proficiency in supply chain analytics, planning, and performance management.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly across West African countries.
