We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and community-focused Education Outreach Coordinator to support initiatives that expand educational opportunities, strengthen academic partnerships, and promote collaboration between U.S. and Ghanaian institutions.

This role provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced education and outreach professional to design impactful programmes, build partnerships, and connect Ghanaian students, educators, institutions, and communities with U.S. educational opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
As the Education Outreach Coordinator, you will:
Education Outreach Programme Development & Implementation
- Design, coordinate, and implement education outreach programmes that support U.S. foreign policy objectives and strengthen U.S.-Ghana educational engagement.
- Develop initiatives that promote academic mobility, workforce readiness, educational capacity building, and awareness of U.S. education opportunities.
- Engage secondary schools, universities, vocational institutions, educators, students, and emerging community leaders through targeted outreach activities.
- Promote EducationUSA advising programmes and provide accurate guidance to students, parents, teachers, counsellors, and education stakeholders on studying in the United States.
- Organise and support education fairs, workshops, seminars, conferences, and public engagement events.
- Build partnerships with U.S. and Ghanaian higher education institutions, government stakeholders, and education-focused organisations.
- Collaborate with content teams to develop digital campaigns, multimedia materials, and communication initiatives that promote education programmes.
- Maintain relationships with programme alumni and graduates of U.S. institutions to strengthen ongoing engagement and community networks.
Strategic Planning, Research & Evaluation
- Provide strategic advice on Ghana’s education landscape, emerging trends, and opportunities for U.S.-Ghana academic collaboration.
- Analyse education trends, audience behaviours, demographic patterns, and community needs to inform programme development.
- Recommend innovative approaches to expand educational access, strengthen academic partnerships, and support workforce development.
- Evaluate programme outcomes, measure impact, and recommend improvements to maximise effectiveness.
- Develop projects aligned with academic calendars, admissions cycles, and priority outreach objectives.
Partnership & Stakeholder Coordination
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Mission teams, Ghanaian government institutions, educational organisations, and community stakeholders.
- Coordinate education outreach activities with EducationUSA advising centres and relevant U.S. Government programmes.
- Support collaboration between Mission officers, schools, universities, and community organisations.
- Serve as the Public Diplomacy coordinator for diaspora engagement activities.
Programme Administration & Resource Management
- Develop, manage, and monitor education outreach budgets and project resources.
- Support grant management activities and serve as a Grants Officer Representative (GOR) as assigned.
- Maintain accurate programme records, reports, and documentation using approved Mission systems.
- Prepare regular reports on programme activities, outcomes, and achievements.
- Ensure education initiatives comply with Mission policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
Qualification Required & Experience
Applicants must have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, American Studies, International Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field from a recognised university.
- A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in education, public diplomacy, cultural exchange, communications, marketing, or public outreach within a multinational or international environment.
- Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
Required Knowledge & Skills
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
Education & Programme Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of the U.S. higher education system, college application processes, standardised testing, and financial aid opportunities.
- Knowledge of American history, culture, government, literature, geography, and American Studies.
- Understanding of Ghana’s education system, academic institutions, education policies, and youth engagement trends.
- Knowledge of international education partnerships, NGOs, and diaspora engagement initiatives.
Analytical & Communication Skills
- Strong research, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to assess audience needs, evaluate programme impact, and recommend effective engagement strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presentations, public speaking, and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse cultural, professional, and community groups.
Programme & Management Skills
- Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, implementation, and evaluation.
- Ability to organise and manage workshops, seminars, conferences, and outreach initiatives.
- Strong negotiation, partnership-building, and stakeholder management skills.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and related reporting tools.
- Ability to use digital communication platforms, social media, online learning tools, and virtual engagement technologies.
- Familiarity with digital education tools such as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), online platforms, and multimedia content creation tools.
- Ability to analyse programme data and prepare performance reports.
Security & Employment Requirements
Selected candidates must:
- Obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
- Complete required background checks and any applicable pre-employment assessments.
- Be available to commence employment within a reasonable period following receipt of required authorisations and clearances.
