The Opportunity
Palmcrest Hotel is seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our culinary team in Takoradi.
The successful candidate will prepare high-quality meals, maintain excellent kitchen standards, and contribute to creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests. You will apply your culinary expertise, creativity, and attention to detail to deliver a diverse range of local and continental dishes while maintaining food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
As a Chef, you will:
- Prepare and present high-quality local and continental dishes according to hotel standards.
- Plan and execute daily menu preparations while ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
- Maintain excellent food preparation, hygiene, and safety standards in the kitchen.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and proper presentation of meals.
- Ensure ingredients are properly handled, stored, and used efficiently to minimize waste.
- Coordinate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Follow recipes, cooking procedures, and menu specifications accurately.
- Assist in menu planning and contribute creative ideas to improve dining experiences.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Support inventory management and ensure adequate availability of kitchen supplies.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and hotel quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or Degree in Catering, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- Three (3) to seven (7) years of experience in a similar chef role within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Strong cooking experience with the ability to prepare a variety of local and continental cuisines.
- Practical knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and hygiene standards.
