Position Summary

Estel Chemist is seeking a qualified and customer-focused Pharmacist to join our team in Obuasi. The successful candidate will ensure the safe dispensing of medications, provide professional pharmaceutical care, educate patients on the appropriate use of medicines, and contribute to the efficient operation of the pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescription medications accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Review prescriptions to ensure their legality, accuracy, and appropriateness.
  • Counsel patients on the safe and effective use of prescribed and over-the-counter medications.
  • Monitor patient medication therapy and identify potential drug interactions or contraindications.
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records and patient medication profiles.
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including stock control and expiry monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, professional standards, and company policies.
  • Supervise and support pharmacy assistants and other support staff where required.
  • Promote health awareness through patient education and preventive healthcare initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Valid registration and licence to practise as a Pharmacist in Ghana.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical care, medication management, and pharmacy regulations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy management software is an advantage.
