Job Summary
The Accountant will oversee the company’s financial records, ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, support budgeting and financial planning, and provide accurate financial information to support business decisions. The successful candidate will maintain strong internal controls, contribute to project and contract accounting, and help drive financial efficiency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Recording & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and other financial records.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to management.
Tax & Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and file statutory tax returns in compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) requirements.
- Ensure timely payment of taxes, SSNIT contributions, and other statutory obligations.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant financial regulations and statutory requirements.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation and schedules.
- Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate control measures.
Budgeting & Cost Analysis
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and analyze variances.
- Conduct cost analysis and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
Project & Contract Accounting
- Monitor project costs and revenues to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Track contract-related financial activities and support project profitability analysis.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure proper financial management throughout project lifecycles.
Payroll & Team Support
- Process payroll accurately and ensure compliance with statutory payroll requirements.
- Support finance team activities and contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Provide financial information and guidance to internal stakeholders as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Part-qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAG, ACCA, or an equivalent professional qualification) is preferred.
- Minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience within the construction or design-build sector will be an added advantage.
- Strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Ghanaian tax laws, and SSNIT regulations.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial management practices.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience with accounting software and financial management systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism.
