Educational Support Services (ESS) Teacher (Full-Time)

Location: East Legon, Accra, Ghana

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Educational Support Services (ESS) Teacher to provide individualized support that enables students with diverse learning needs to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students requiring additional academic support.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized learning plans that address students’ unique educational needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, school leaders, counselors, and parents to promote student success and inclusive learning practices.
  • Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instructional strategies and interventions.
  • Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs while maintaining high academic standards.
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment that encourages student confidence and independence.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions, and support plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Promote the school’s mission, Christian values, and commitment to excellence in all aspects of teaching and student support.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Inclusive Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or professional teaching licence.
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs in an American, International, or International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, inclusive education practices, and student-centered learning.
  • Previous experience in an international school environment will be an added advantage.

  • Excellent classroom management and instructional skills.
  • Strong understanding of learning differences, intervention strategies, and inclusive education.
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of patience, empathy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to Christian values and faith-based education.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and educational technology tools.
