Key Responsibilities

As the Performing Arts Lecturer (Music), you will:

  • Deliver engaging lectures and practical instruction in music and performing arts courses.
  • Develop and review course content that aligns with the College curriculum and national educational standards.
  • Teach both theoretical and practical aspects of music, including performance, musicianship, and music education.
  • Assess student learning through examinations, coursework, practical performances, and continuous assessment.
  • Supervise student research projects, teaching practice, and academic activities.
  • Conduct research and contribute to scholarly publications, conferences, and other academic initiatives.
  • Mentor and provide academic guidance to students to support their personal and professional development.
  • Participate in curriculum development, quality assurance, and departmental activities.
  • Organize and support musical performances, concerts, workshops, and other creative events that enrich the College community.
  • Contribute to College committees, outreach programmes, and institutional development initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements

The successful candidate should possess:

  • A PhD in Music, Music Education, Performing Arts, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the tertiary level.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, and music pedagogy.
  • An active interest in research, innovation, and academic publication.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to academic excellence, creativity, and student success.
