Key Responsibilities

As a Mathematics Lecturer, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lectures in mathematics and mathematics education.
  • Develop, review, and update course materials in line with the College curriculum and national educational standards.
  • Facilitate interactive learning experiences that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Assess student learning through examinations, assignments, projects, and continuous assessment.
  • Supervise student research projects, teaching practice, and academic activities.
  • Conduct scholarly research and contribute to academic publications, conferences, and professional development initiatives.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
  • Participate in curriculum development, quality assurance, and departmental planning activities.
  • Contribute to College committees, academic programmes, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate academic records and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and academic integrity.

Qualifications and Requirements

The successful candidate should possess:

  • A PhD in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the tertiary level.
  • Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts, teaching methodologies, and curriculum development.
  • A proven commitment to research, innovation, and academic excellence.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic environment.
