Position Summary

The Store Keeper will be responsible for managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and control of food items, beverages, cleaning materials, and other restaurant supplies. The successful candidate will ensure inventory accuracy, maintain proper storage conditions, and support the smooth operation of the restaurant through effective stock management.

Key Responsibilities

As a Store Keeper, you will:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming goods to ensure they meet quality and quantity specifications.
  • Record and update inventory transactions accurately using manual or computerized inventory systems.
  • Store food, beverages, cleaning materials, and other supplies in accordance with food safety and storage standards.
  • Issue stock to authorized departments while maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Monitor stock levels and notify management when inventory requires replenishment.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with inventory records.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) principle where applicable.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and well-labelled storeroom.
  • Monitor expiry dates and report slow-moving, damaged, or expired stock promptly.
  • Prepare inventory reports and assist management with stock analysis and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with the procurement and kitchen teams to ensure the timely availability of required supplies.
  • Maintain proper documentation for goods received, issued, transferred, and returned.
  • Comply with food safety, hygiene, health, and workplace safety regulations at all times.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen inventory control and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), or Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Accounting, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Store Keeper, Inventory Officer, Warehouse Assistant, or in a similar inventory management role.
  • Experience in the hospitality, restaurant, retail, or food service industry will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using inventory management or point-of-sale (POS) systems will be an added advantage.
