We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-oriented Shop Attendant to join our team at our Spintex location. The successful candidate will play an important role in creating a positive shopping experience by assisting customers, managing shop operations, and ensuring excellent service delivery.

Position Summary

The Shop Attendant will support daily retail operations by attending to customers, arranging products, processing sales, maintaining shop cleanliness, and ensuring that customers receive efficient and courteous service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

As a Shop Attendant, you will:

  • Welcome customers warmly and provide professional assistance throughout their shopping experience.
  • Attend to customer enquiries, provide product information, and recommend suitable options where required.
  • Process customer purchases accurately using approved payment and sales procedures.
  • Handle cash, electronic payments, and receipts responsibly while maintaining accurate transaction records.
  • Arrange, display, and replenish products to ensure the shop remains attractive and well-organized.
  • Monitor product availability and report low stock levels or damaged items to management.
  • Receive, check, and properly store incoming products and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory movements, and daily shop activities.
  • Ensure the shop environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for customers.
  • Support stock-taking activities and assist with inventory management processes.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Follow company policies, health and safety procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Support promotional activities and contribute ideas to improve customer experience.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales and service targets.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of Senior High School (SHS) certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • A certificate or diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Customer Service, or a related field will be an added advantage.
  • Previous experience as a Shop Attendant, Sales Assistant, Retail Assistant, Customer Service Representative, or similar role will be an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and retail operations.
