Position Summary
Oliver Twist Shack is seeking a hardworking and detail-oriented Cooking Assistant to support the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals. The successful candidate will assist chefs with food preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and contribute to the efficient operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, measuring, and portioning food items.
- Support chefs in preparing and presenting meals according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation areas, kitchen equipment, and workstations.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of food items in accordance with food safety standards.
- Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing food supplies and kitchen inventory.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
- Wash kitchen utensils, cookware, and equipment as required.
- Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- HND or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Catering, Culinary Arts, Food Production, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a kitchen, restaurant, catering, or food service environment.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Understanding of food hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high food quality standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
