We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grill Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will take ownership of the grill station, prepare high-quality grilled dishes, and ensure every meal meets our standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

Grill Station Management

  • Prepare and cook grilled meat, seafood, poultry, and vegetables according to approved recipes and quality standards.
  • Manage the grill station efficiently during busy service periods.
  • Ensure food is cooked to the correct temperature, texture, and customer specifications.
  • Maintain consistency in portion sizes, presentation, and flavour across all grilled menu items.
  • Prepare the grill station before service and ensure it is fully stocked and operational.

Food Preparation & Quality Control

  • Prepare ingredients, marinades, sauces, and seasonings for grilled dishes.
  • Inspect ingredients to ensure freshness and quality before use.
  • Monitor food quality throughout preparation and service.
  • Follow standard recipes and plating guidelines consistently.
  • Assist with developing new grilled menu items and seasonal specials.

Food Safety & Hygiene

  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of food products.
  • Clean and sanitise grilling equipment, utensils, and workstations regularly.
  • Monitor grill equipment to ensure safe operation and report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Minimise food waste through proper preparation and portion control.

Kitchen Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Executive Chef, Head Chef, Sous Chef, and kitchen team to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Coordinate with other kitchen stations to complete customer orders efficiently.
  • Support colleagues during peak service periods and special events.
  • Maintain effective communication throughout kitchen operations.

Inventory & Operational Support

  • Monitor stock levels for grill station ingredients and supplies.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation.
  • Report shortages or quality concerns to kitchen management.
  • Support daily kitchen opening, closing, and cleaning procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Food Production, or Hospitality is an advantage.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Grill Chef, Line Cook, or similar culinary role.
  • Experience working in a restaurant, steakhouse, grill house, hotel, or hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of grilling techniques, meat preparation, and food presentation.
  • Good understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
