FAO Ghana is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and results-driven Partnerships Officer (Resource Mobilization) to strengthen partnerships, support resource mobilization efforts, and enhance collaboration with non-state actors to advance FAO’s programmes and strategic objectives.

Job Summary
The Partnerships Officer (Resource Mobilization) will develop, manage, and strengthen strategic partnerships with civil society organizations, private sector entities, donors, and other stakeholders to support FAO’s resource mobilization priorities. The successful candidate will identify funding opportunities, facilitate partnership development, provide strategic guidance on engagement processes, and support the implementation of FAO’s partnership strategies at national and regional levels.
The role will contribute to expanding FAO’s partnership network, improving donor engagement, and translating strategic partnerships into impactful programmes that support food security, nutrition, sustainable agriculture, and development goals.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Development and Management
- Implement FAO’s strategies for partnerships with civil society organizations and private sector stakeholders at national and regional levels.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships that align with FAO’s objectives, programmes, and development priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government institutions, donors, civil society organizations, private sector partners, and development actors.
- Support effective collaboration between FAO offices and external partners to maximize programme impact.
- Monitor partnership activities, agreements, and outcomes while providing regular updates to senior management.
- Develop and improve partnership processes, tools, and engagement frameworks.
Resource Mobilization and Donor Engagement
- Identify new funding opportunities and support fundraising initiatives aligned with FAO’s strategic priorities.
- Analyze donor policies, trends, and funding priorities to provide recommendations to management.
- Prepare donor briefs, concept notes, programme summaries, and partnership materials that communicate FAO’s impact and opportunities.
- Support the development of resource mobilization strategies and advocacy initiatives.
- Strengthen donor relationships through effective communication, engagement, and follow-up.
Programme Support and Coordination
- Support country-level initiatives guided by FAO’s Country Programming Frameworks and strategic priorities.
- Facilitate the involvement of non-state actors in programme design, implementation, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Collaborate with technical teams to transform FAO knowledge products into practical results and development outcomes.
- Support the organization of partnership meetings, workshops, seminars, and capacity-building activities.
- Develop tools, guidance materials, and information resources to strengthen partnership capacity across FAO offices.
Reporting, Analysis, and Knowledge Management
- Prepare regular reports, briefs, and analysis on partnerships, donor trends, and resource mobilization opportunities.
- Monitor existing partnership agreements and provide comprehensive updates to senior leadership.
- Review partnership materials and ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with FAO standards.
- Analyze internal partnership policies and recommend improvements to strengthen stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of partnership activities, opportunities, and outcomes.
Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate with regional and headquarters teams to ensure effective resource mobilization and partnership management.
- Facilitate communication between country offices, regional offices, and relevant FAO departments.
- Support staff capacity development on partnership engagement, donor relations, and resource mobilization approaches.
- Promote inclusive partnerships that consider gender equality, youth participation, and community involvement.
Educational Qualification & Experience
The ideal candidate should possess:
- An Advanced University Degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in International Relations, Public Relations, Political Science, International Cooperation for Development, Development Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant professional experience in international cooperation for development, donor programmes, fundraising, negotiations, public relations, advocacy, or related areas.
- Working knowledge of English at a professional level.
- Intermediate knowledge of another official FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is required.
- Intermediate knowledge of French will be considered an added advantage.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in multiple locations, particularly in field-based roles.
- Experience engaging with international donors, development partners, and government institutions.
- Experience supporting programmes related to food systems, agriculture, social development, or economic development.
- Experience working with Indigenous Peoples’ food systems, Indigenous women and youth, seeds, geospatial initiatives, programme implementation, policy development, or related areas will be an advantage.
