Position Summary

BlackPark Limited is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Production Supervisor – Cutting & Edging to lead the daily operations of its cutting and edging production unit. The successful candidate will supervise production teams, optimise manufacturing processes, maintain quality standards, and ensure safe, efficient, and timely production while supporting exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the cutting and edging production unit to achieve production targets.
  • Lead, coach, train, and evaluate production employees to maximise productivity, quality, and team performance.
  • Monitor production schedules and ensure all jobs are completed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed timelines.
  • Track hourly production output and document operational performance, delays, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain rigorous quality control standards by:
    • Ensuring cutting blades, tooling, and equipment remain in optimal operating condition.
    • Verifying cutting lists before production begins.
    • Confirming that materials received from the warehouse meet quality requirements and are free from defects.
  • Enforce compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with Sales, Branch Managers, Inventory, Warehouse, and Stock Control teams to ensure efficient workflow and timely customer deliveries.
  • Analyse cutting and edging operations to improve productivity, minimise waste, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Manage Work-in-Process (WIP) inventory to ensure materials are available in the correct quantities at the right time.
  • Review customer sales orders and standardise production documentation to ensure specifications are accurately interpreted and executed.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for cutting and edging equipment.
  • Ensure machinery is cleaned, lubricated, serviced, and maintained in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate timely maintenance to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

  • A Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Wood Technology, Engineering, Business Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ supervisory experience in woodworking, cabinet making, furniture manufacturing, wood finishing, or a related production environment.
  • Practical experience operating or supervising commercial cutting and edging machinery.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve operational and financial performance targets while maintaining high customer service standards.
