We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Basic 2 Class Teacher to join our team in North Kaneshie.

Position Summary

As the Basic 2 Class Teacher, you will create an engaging and stimulating classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils. You will deliver high-quality instruction across the Basic 2 curriculum while encouraging curiosity, creativity, confidence, and positive character development.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across all Basic 2 subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Science, Our World Our People, and other prescribed subjects.
  • Deliver instruction in accordance with the NaCCA curriculum and apply play-based and activity-based teaching methodologies to enhance learning.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and classroom activities that meet diverse learning needs.
  • Assess pupils’ learning through classwork, assignments, and examinations, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, academic performance, and pupil progress, and prepare reports as required.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes effective learning.
  • Foster positive behaviour, good manners, discipline, and strong moral values among pupils.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support learners’ overall development.
  • Use teaching aids and appropriate educational technology to enrich classroom instruction.
  • Participate in staff meetings, school events, parent engagement activities, and professional development programmes.
  • Perform any other duties that contribute to the effective delivery of quality education.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Basic Education or a related education discipline.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and nurturing young children.
  • Previous classroom teaching experience at the lower primary level will be an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of the NaCCA curriculum and learner-centred teaching practices.
  • Confidence in integrating teaching aids and basic technology into classroom instruction.
