Role Purpose
We are seeking a detail-focused and proactive Account Officer to support day-to-day financial operations. You will actively ensure accurate processing of financial transactions, maintain proper records, and support timely reporting within a structured shipping finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
You will actively:
- Process vendor invoices accurately and ensure timely approvals and postings
- Manage petty cash transactions and maintain proper documentation and accountability
- Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of records
- Review and process staff expense reports in line with company policies
- Support timely payment processing to vendors and service providers
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with internal controls and procedures
- Assist in resolving invoice discrepancies and payment queries
- Support the finance team with monthly reporting and audit requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3+ years’ relevant experience in Finance/Accounting within a Shipping Line or Shipping Agency
- Part-qualified ACCA or ICA certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
