We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our team and support the effective management of our financial operations.
Role Overview
As an Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting sound financial decision-making. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with accounting standards and contribute to the organization’s financial success.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor financial transactions and ensure they are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank accounts, ledgers, and other financial statements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, financial regulations, and internal controls.
- Assist with tax filings, audits, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in accounting processes and financial reporting systems.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in financial reporting and general accounting practices.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
Professional accounting certification or progress toward a recognized accounting qualification will be an added advantage.
