Position Summary
As the Accountant, you will play a key role in managing the company’s financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, and providing timely financial information to support strategic business decisions. You will contribute to strengthening financial controls, improving operational efficiency, and supporting the organization’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Establish, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risk.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits by preparing financial records and responding to audit requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with Ghanaian tax laws, statutory regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely statutory tax filings, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, and other regulatory returns.
- Manage accounting for foreign trade payables, asset acquisitions, and investment transactions.
- Analyse financial performance and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, reconciliations, and management reports to support business planning and decision-making.
- Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and company policies.
- Collaborate with internal departments to improve financial processes and strengthen compliance across the organization.
- Perform other finance and accounting responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Part or full professional qualification in ACCA, ICA Ghana, CIMA, or an equivalent professional accounting body will be an advantage.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical, FMCG, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, budgeting, inventory accounting, taxation, and financial record management.
- Proficiency in accounting software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Odoo, Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Ghanaian tax regulations.
- Experience supporting financial audits and implementing effective internal control systems.
