Key Responsibilities
As an Accounts Officer, you will:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, and supporting documentation.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Monitor departmental and project budgets and report on budget variances.
- Support tax preparation, statutory filings, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Verify, process, and reconcile staff claims, reimbursements, and business expenses.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing financial records and supporting documentation.
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Support the Finance team with other accounting and administrative responsibilities as required.
Qualification Required & Experience
Applicants should have:
- A Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Two (2) to four (4) years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and bookkeeping practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
