Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Program Officer to support the implementation of the Oxygen Access project under Child Health programs. The successful candidate will coordinate field activities, support stakeholder engagement, manage program data, and contribute to strengthening oxygen delivery systems across target regions.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day program activities in line with work plans and project objectives
- Support field supervision, data collection, and documentation of implementation progress across Bono, Bono East, Savannah, and Oti regions
- Coordinate with Ghana Health Service (GHS) and Ministry of Health (MOH) counterparts to track deliverables and follow up on action items
- Organize and document Technical Working Group (TWG) meetings, stakeholder engagements, and training sessions
- Support the rollout and monitoring of clinical and technical training for healthcare workers and biomedical engineers
- Assist in developing and disseminating regulatory guidelines, SOPs, and compliance tools in collaboration with relevant authorities
- Conduct facility visits to monitor implementation progress and identify service delivery gaps
- Collect, validate, and manage program data, supporting integration into DHIMS2 and other national systems
- Develop data collection tools, monitoring templates, and reporting formats
- Draft progress reports, field summaries, and program documentation for internal and donor use
- Support grant proposal development for future child health initiatives
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Country Director
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Social Sciences, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in public health, health systems strengthening, or program implementation
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to synthesize information and produce clear, concise reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and high-pressure environments
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% across target regions
Preferred/Advantageous Skills
- Experience in child health, oxygen access, RMNCH, or health technology programs
- Familiarity with Ghana’s health system, including GHS, MOH, and FDA structures
- Knowledge of health information systems such as DHIMS2
- Experience supporting training, supervision, or implementation research
