Assistant Registrar – General Administration (Full-Time)

Location: Navrongo, Ghana

We invite applications from experienced, proactive, and highly organized administrative professionals for the position of Assistant Registrar – General Administration. This role provides an opportunity to support strategic university administration, strengthen institutional systems, and contribute to the effective delivery of administrative services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic administrative support to the Registrar and University Management in the effective coordination of the University’s day-to-day administration.
  • Coordinate and manage the activities of assigned administrative units, faculties, schools, directorates, or departments to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Support the planning and organization of University Council meetings, Management Committee meetings, and other official engagements, including preparation of agendas, meeting papers, minutes, and follow-up actions.
  • Assist in the implementation, review, and monitoring of University policies, statutes, regulations, and strategic plans.
  • Manage official correspondence, records, and institutional documentation in accordance with approved records management procedures.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with academic departments, directorates, government institutions, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders on administrative matters.
  • Coordinate administrative arrangements and logistics for University events, ceremonies, meetings, and official functions.
  • Support the preparation of institutional reports, returns, policy documents, and submissions required by regulatory and statutory bodies.
  • Monitor compliance with public service regulations, University statutes, policies, and applicable legal requirements.
  • Provide administrative guidance and support to assigned units to improve operational efficiency.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of General Administration, Registrar, Vice-Chancellor, or the University Council.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Have been appointed as a Assistant Registrar in an accredited university or comparable institution and served for at least two (2) years in that grade; or
  • Hold an M.Phil. or a two-year research Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.

Applicants must also:

  • Hold a good First Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university.
  • Have at least four (4) years’ relevant postgraduate work experience in university administration or a comparable institution, preferably at a senior administrative level.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of university administration, governance structures, policy implementation, and institutional procedures.
  • Possess excellent leadership, communication, coordination, report writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer applications.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
