Role Purpose

The BCM Coordinator will lead and maintain the Bank’s Business Continuity Management framework in alignment with ISO 22301 standards. The role ensures the Bank’s preparedness to respond effectively to disruptions, minimize operational and financial impact, and protect customers, employees, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. BCM Framework Management
  • Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the BCM framework in line with ISO 22301 standards.
  • Conduct regular internal assessments and audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
  1. Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
  • Conduct comprehensive BIAs across all business units.
  • Identify and prioritize critical functions to ensure continuity of essential services.
  • Document risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  1. Risk Identification and Mitigation
  • Proactively identify risks that may disrupt business operations.
  • Conduct resilience assessments of critical third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Develop and implement mitigation and recovery strategies.
  1. Business Continuity Planning & Testing
  • Develop, execute, and evaluate Business Continuity Plan (BCP) tests and call tree drills.
  • Ensure operational readiness during crisis or disaster scenarios.
  • Prepare and submit post-test reports with findings and corrective actions.
  1. Crisis Management
  • Coordinate crisis response activities with Local and Group Crisis Management Teams (CMT).
  • Facilitate timely escalation, communication, and recovery efforts.
  • Minimize financial, operational, and reputational impact during disruptions.
  1. BCM Awareness and Training
  • Organize and facilitate BCM training sessions for CMT members and key personnel.
  • Promote BCM awareness across the Bank.
  1. Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
  • Track and report BCM metrics, compliance gaps, audit findings, and remediation actions.
  • Continuously enhance the BCM framework in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practice

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Ensure 100% of business units maintain up-to-date BIA reports by end of Q2.
  • Achieve 100% execution of crisis response actions within 2 hours of detection for critical services.
  • Achieve 100% success rate in annual BCP tests and call tree drills.
  • Maintain full compliance with ISO 22301 standards.
  • Ensure 100% annual BCM training completion for key personnel and CMT members.
  • Achieve at least 80% remediation of audit findings within stipulated timelines.
  • Complete 100% resilience assessments of critical vendors.
  • Deliver 100% accurate BCM reports within 5 business days of request.

Education & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Security, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree is an added advantage.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
  • ISO 22301 Lead Implementer
  • Relevant BCM or Risk certifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Business Continuity, Risk Management, or Crisis Management.
  • Experience within the financial services sector is preferred.

Technical Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of ISO 22301 standards.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and BCM best practices.
  • Familiarity with BCM tools and GRC platforms.

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply regulatory and technical documentation.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
