The Opportunity

Palmcrest Hotel is seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our culinary team in Takoradi.

The successful candidate will prepare high-quality meals, maintain excellent kitchen standards, and contribute to creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests. You will apply your culinary expertise, creativity, and attention to detail to deliver a diverse range of local and continental dishes while maintaining food safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Chef, you will:

  • Prepare and present high-quality local and continental dishes according to hotel standards.
  • Plan and execute daily menu preparations while ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
  • Maintain excellent food preparation, hygiene, and safety standards in the kitchen.
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and proper presentation of meals.
  • Ensure ingredients are properly handled, stored, and used efficiently to minimize waste.
  • Coordinate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Follow recipes, cooking procedures, and menu specifications accurately.
  • Assist in menu planning and contribute creative ideas to improve dining experiences.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Support inventory management and ensure adequate availability of kitchen supplies.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and hotel quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) or Degree in Catering, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • Three (3) to seven (7) years of experience in a similar chef role within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
  • Strong cooking experience with the ability to prepare a variety of local and continental cuisines.
  • Practical knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and hygiene standards.
