Job Summary
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) actively leads the bank, driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and stakeholder value. The CEO ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, enhances financial performance, and champions innovation in rural banking services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and direction to achieve organizational objectives
Develop and implement policies, plans, and strategies aligned with the bank’s mission
Oversee the bank’s operations to ensure efficiency, profitability, and compliance
Ensure adherence to the Banks and Specialized Deposit-Taking Institutions Act, 2016 (Act 930) and LI 1825
Maintain awareness of local and international regulations (e.g., IFRS, BASEL II/III)
Lead organizational change and drive large-scale transformation initiatives
Foster a culture of innovation, integrity, and high performance
Ensure effective stakeholder engagement with regulators, clients, and the community
Monitor financial performance and implement risk management strategies
Promote digital banking solutions and operational excellence
Requirements
Educational & Professional Qualifications (Either Option):
Option 1: Master’s Degree in Banking, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline from a recognized university with at least 10 years of experience in the banking industry, including 7 years in a senior managerial role. Experience in rural banking is an advantage.
Option 2: Professional qualification (ACIB, ICAG, ACCA, or other relevant certification) with at least 10 years post-qualification experience in banking, including 7 years in a key managerial role. Experience in rural banking is an advantage.
Core Competencies & Skills:
In-depth knowledge of rural banking operations and regulations
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Proficiency in core banking systems (e.g., T24) and Microsoft Office Suite
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated leadership in driving organizational change and transformation
Strategic thinking and vision for sustainable growth
Other Requirements:
Age Limit: 55 years or younger at the time of application
