Position Summary

We are seeking motivated, safety-conscious, and dependable Chokermen to support our harvesting and extraction operations. In this role, you will work closely with machine operators to safely attach, guide, and manage logs during skidding and extraction activities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe timber extraction operations in the field.

Key Responsibilities

As a Chokerman, you will:

• Work consistently in line with the highest safety standards and operational procedures.
• Properly choke trees, logs, and off-cuts using chains, cables, or taglines for safe skidding and extraction.
• Ensure correct handling, control, and maintenance of chains, cables, and related equipment.
• Assist machine operators in conducting basic checks on machines, chains, and cables before and during operations.
• Support the completion of daily production control sheets and operational records.
• Ensure proper stacking and sorting of logs according to product categories at field and landing sites.
• Communicate clearly with machine operators to guide skidder or tractor movement and winching direction.
• Support processing activities as required to ensure smooth workflow.
• Report any unsafe conditions, equipment faults, or operational risks to supervisors immediately.
• Follow all safety instructions, environmental guidelines, and company procedures at all times.

Eligibility Requirements

We welcome applications from candidates who meet the following requirements:

• Minimum of Junior High School (JHS) education or equivalent.
• Previous experience in forestry, logging, harvesting, or a related field is an advantage.
• Must possess a valid Ghana Card, NHIS card, and SSNIT number.
• Physically fit and capable of working in demanding outdoor environments.
• Strong ability to follow instructions and work under minimal supervision.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and discipline.
• Dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn.
