We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and experienced Communication, Media, and Public Engagement Coordinator to lead the design and delivery of high-impact communication initiatives that influence policy, strengthen advocacy, and amplify the voices of marginalized communities.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communication and Media Engagement
- Lead the design and implementation of communication strategies that support advocacy, campaigns, and influencing objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with national and international media outlets across print, radio, television, and digital platforms.
- Position Oxfam as a credible and influential voice on social justice, inequality, and humanitarian issues.
- Develop compelling narratives, messaging, and content that amplify programme impact and policy priorities.
Advocacy and Public Engagement
- Support campaigns and advocacy initiatives through strategic media engagement and public communications.
- Conduct media research and analysis to inform influencing strategies and campaign positioning.
- Identify opportunities to elevate Oxfam’s voice in public discourse and policy debates.
- Coordinate public engagement activities that strengthen awareness and behavioral change.
Content Development and Storytelling
- Produce high-quality communication materials, including press releases, articles, briefs, and digital content.
- Translate complex policy and programme information into clear, accessible messaging.
- Ensure consistency of messaging across all communication channels and platforms.
Partnership and Stakeholder Management
- Work collaboratively with internal programme teams across multiple locations and disciplines.
- Strengthen relationships with journalists, editors, influencers, and communication partners.
- Support cross-functional teams in delivering integrated communication outcomes.
Leadership and Coordination
- Lead communication planning and execution for campaigns and advocacy initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to programme teams on media and communications.
- Coordinate with geographically dispersed teams to ensure alignment and impact.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Master’s degree in Development Communication, Communication Studies, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in journalism, communications, media, or public relations.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing media and communication strategies for advocacy, policy influencing, and behaviour change.
- Strong experience in building and maintaining strategic media relationships.
- Solid understanding of print, radio, television, and digital media ecosystems.
- Experience in project management, media research, and campaign communications.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly, confidently, and persuasively.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable and an added advantage.
