Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Communications Associate to support programme communication, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge management initiatives. The successful candidate will contribute to the visibility, reporting, and communication efforts of development and climate-related programmes while supporting collaboration across teams and partners.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Delivery and Monitoring

• Support communication activities related to programme implementation and monitoring
• Prepare reports, updates, briefs, and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders
• Assist in documenting programme achievements, lessons learned, and impact stories
• Support reporting and verification processes in line with organizational guidelines and standards

Stakeholder Engagement

• Support engagement with development partners, media stakeholders, and project beneficiaries
• Coordinate communication activities and outreach initiatives across multiple stakeholders
• Promote visibility of programme activities through digital and traditional communication channels
• Assist in organizing events, workshops, and stakeholder meetings

Quality Assurance

• Ensure communication materials meet UNOPS branding and quality standards
• Maintain accuracy, consistency, and professionalism in all communication outputs
• Support adherence to reporting procedures, templates, and communication guidelines

Knowledge Management and Innovation

• Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and communication strategies
• Support content management across web-based platforms and communication systems
• Maintain organized communication records, databases, and digital resources
• Identify innovative communication approaches to improve stakeholder engagement and outreach

Educational Requirement

• Completion of secondary education with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience; OR
• First-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in Communication, Development Communication, Media and Journalism, International Relations, or a related field with at least two (2) years of relevant experience

Experience Requirements

Required

• Minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience
• At least two (2) years of experience in climate finance, development cooperation, environmental programmes, or related fields
• Strong experience in communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement

Desired

• Experience working with media procedures, reporting standards, and verification practices
• Knowledge of international development cooperation, climate change, gender, youth, and sustainability issues
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using spreadsheet, database, and web-based management systems

Language Requirement

• Fluency in English is required
