Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Communications Associate to support programme communication, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge management initiatives. The successful candidate will contribute to the visibility, reporting, and communication efforts of development and climate-related programmes while supporting collaboration across teams and partners.

Key Responsibilities
Programme Delivery and Monitoring
- Support communication activities related to programme implementation and monitoring
- Prepare reports, updates, briefs, and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders
- Assist in documenting programme achievements, lessons learned, and impact stories
- Support reporting and verification processes in line with organizational guidelines and standards
Stakeholder Engagement
- Support engagement with development partners, media stakeholders, and project beneficiaries
- Coordinate communication activities and outreach initiatives across multiple stakeholders
- Promote visibility of programme activities through digital and traditional communication channels
- Assist in organizing events, workshops, and stakeholder meetings
Quality Assurance
- Ensure communication materials meet UNOPS branding and quality standards
- Maintain accuracy, consistency, and professionalism in all communication outputs
- Support adherence to reporting procedures, templates, and communication guidelines
Knowledge Management and Innovation
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and communication strategies
- Support content management across web-based platforms and communication systems
- Maintain organized communication records, databases, and digital resources
- Identify innovative communication approaches to improve stakeholder engagement and outreach
Educational Requirement
- Completion of secondary education with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience; OR
- First-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in Communication, Development Communication, Media and Journalism, International Relations, or a related field with at least two (2) years of relevant experience
Experience Requirements
Required
- Minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience
- At least two (2) years of experience in climate finance, development cooperation, environmental programmes, or related fields
- Strong experience in communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement
Desired
- Experience working with media procedures, reporting standards, and verification practices
- Knowledge of international development cooperation, climate change, gender, youth, and sustainability issues
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using spreadsheet, database, and web-based management systems
Language Requirement
- Fluency in English is required
