Position Summary

The Concrete Mixer Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of concrete mixing equipment, including mixer trucks and batching plant systems. The role ensures the timely delivery of high-quality concrete to designated locations while maintaining strict adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate concrete mixer trucks or batching plant mixers safely and efficiently.
• Transport and deliver concrete to designated work areas, including surface and underground sites.
• Ensure correct concrete mix, slump, and consistency in accordance with approved specifications.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks to ensure operational readiness.
• Monitor the mixing process and adjust water and cement ratios within approved limits.
• Safely discharge concrete at delivery points following established procedures.
• Clean mixer drums and associated equipment after each operation to prevent material buildup.
• Report equipment defects, faults, or maintenance issues promptly to the maintenance team.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, delivery records, and operational documentation.
• Adhere to all site safety regulations, traffic rules, and environmental standards.
• Coordinate effectively with batching plant operators, supervisors, and other site personnel.
• Perform basic maintenance and assist with servicing of mixer equipment as required.

Education, Experience & Key Competencies

Education & Certification

• Technical Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience operating concrete mixer trucks or batching equipment.
• Experience in construction, mining, or industrial environments is preferred.

Technical Competencies

• Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Understanding of concrete mixing processes and quality control standards.
• Ability to perform routine inspections and identify equipment faults.
