Position Summary

The Cook will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and consistency in accordance with the restaurant’s standards. The successful candidate will work closely with the kitchen team to deliver an outstanding dining experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

As a Cook, you will:

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals in accordance with approved recipes and restaurant standards.
• Ensure food is prepared, cooked, and presented to the highest quality and consistency.
• Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, health, and sanitation regulations.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, measuring, and storing food items appropriately.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and portion sizes to minimize waste and maximize customer satisfaction.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while ensuring it is cleaned and maintained properly.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify management when ingredients and kitchen supplies require replenishment.
• Store food items correctly to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation during busy service periods.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment throughout each shift.
• Assist with menu preparation, daily specials, and new recipe development when required.
• Follow company policies and contribute to continuous improvement in kitchen operations and customer service.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A minimum of a Senior High School Certificate, NVTI, City & Guilds, or a Certificate in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Cook in a restaurant, hotel, catering service, or similar hospitality establishment.
• Experience preparing both local and continental dishes will be an added advantage.
• Professional culinary training or certification is desirable.
