Position Summary
The Finance Officer will play a key role in managing day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting transaction processing, and ensuring compliance with financial policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining the financial integrity of the organization while supporting continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
As a Finance Officer, you will:
- Process financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner, including accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date financial records and supporting documentation.
- Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and schedules to support management decision-making.
- Monitor cash receipts, payments, and account balances to ensure financial accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and established accounting standards.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Monitor compliance with statutory, regulatory, and tax obligations and ensure timely submissions where required.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and supporting information.
- Identify process improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and financial control.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve financial queries and support effective business operations.
- Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA), ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent recognized professional accounting body.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant professional experience in finance and accounting.
- Proven experience in transaction processing, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Experience maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Experience implementing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Sound knowledge of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and tax compliance requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
The successful candidate should demonstrate:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management practices.
- Proven expertise in transaction processing and managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Excellent record management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Sound understanding of financial policies, internal controls, and risk management practices.
- Strong knowledge of statutory, regulatory, and tax compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to meet deadlines.
- High levels of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience using accounting or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems will be an added advantage.
