Position Overview
As a Cook, you will prepare high-quality meals in line with established recipes, presentation standards, and guest expectations. You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations, consistent food quality, and timely service delivery.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity, discipline, and a strong commitment to culinary excellence and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality, taste, and hygiene standards.
- Assist in menu preparation and daily food production planning.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations at all times.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures consistently.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of ingredients and food products.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate supply needs to senior kitchen staff.
- Assist in receiving and inspecting food deliveries.
- Work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Minimize food waste through proper portioning and preparation techniques.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
- Support kitchen setup and closing procedures as required.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive, respectful, and professional kitchen environment.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
- Senior High School Certificate with relevant culinary training or experience will also be considered.
Experience
- Previous experience as a cook, commis chef, or in a similar kitchen role is an advantage.
- Experience in a hotel, restaurant, or fine dining environment will be highly regarded.
- Candidates with strong culinary passion and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
