We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Country Manager to lead our operations in Ghana. This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to shape business strategy, drive commercial performance, strengthen regulatory compliance, and lead high-performing teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Position Summary

The Country Manager will provide strategic leadership for Betway Africa’s operations in Ghana, ensuring sustainable business growth, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and an outstanding customer experience. The successful candidate will oversee the country’s commercial and operational performance while collaborating closely with regional and global leadership to achieve organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Business Leadership

  • Develop and execute the country strategy in alignment with corporate objectives and local market opportunities.
  • Lead all in-country operations while ensuring strong collaboration with regional and global teams.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, customer insights, and regulatory developments to identify business opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Prepare and manage annual business plans, operating budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Drive business performance to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.

Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across retail outlets, online platforms, and mobile channels.
  • Ensure operational excellence across customer support, payments, trading, risk management, and related business functions.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on operational KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize business processes, enhance operational efficiency, and improve cost effectiveness.

Regulatory & Compliance Leadership

  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable gaming, sports betting, and licensing regulations in Ghana.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with regulatory authorities, legal advisors, auditors, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Champion responsible gaming initiatives and ensure compliance with responsible gambling policies across all customer channels.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and implement necessary operational changes to maintain compliance.

Commercial Growth & Customer Experience

  • Develop and implement customer acquisition, retention, and engagement strategies tailored to the Ghanaian market.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, Trading, and Digital teams to deliver competitive products and services.
  • Drive continuous improvement in customer service standards, complaints resolution, and quality assurance.
  • Monitor pricing strategies, betting markets, odds competitiveness, and customer demand to maximize commercial performance.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams across operations, retail, and support functions.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities that foster employee engagement and performance.
  • Manage strategic relationships with business partners, vendors, payment providers, affiliates, and other external stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • A Master’s Degree (MBA or related qualification) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years’ progressive leadership experience in gaming, sports betting, fintech, telecommunications, e-commerce, financial services, or a related commercial industry.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-functional business operations and delivering commercial growth.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, operational management, and business strategy.
