Job Summary

The Credit Officer will assess loan applications, manage client relationships, and ensure that credit operations comply with internal policies and regulatory standards. The role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage credit risk while supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate loan applications and conduct credit assessments to determine client eligibility.
• Perform background checks, financial analysis, and risk assessments for prospective borrowers.
• Prepare credit appraisal reports and present recommendations for loan approval.
• Monitor loan repayments and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and credit records.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to support loan performance and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide regular reports on loan portfolio performance and credit risk.

Qualifications and Requirements

• HND or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in credit management, lending, or microfinance operations.
• Strong analytical and financial assessment skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts effectively.
