Position Summary

Huawei Technologies (Ghana) S.A. LTD is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Customs Clearance Specialist to manage customs clearance operations for import and export activities. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with customs regulations, support supply chain continuity, mitigate customs-related risks, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate efficient cross-border logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate import and export customs clearance activities to support business continuity across the supply network and logistics routes.
  • Develop and maintain an effective customs business environment that supports Huawei’s operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor, interpret, and analyze changes in customs laws, regulations, and policies, and apply them effectively to business operations.
  • Design practical customs compliance solutions based on regulatory requirements and operational needs.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate customs-related risks while leading and supporting customs audits and compliance reviews.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with customs authorities and other regulatory stakeholders to facilitate efficient customs clearance.
  • Resolve customs clearance exceptions promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Monitor, manage, and evaluate the performance of customs clearance agents to ensure service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare accurate customs documentation, reports, and compliance records.
  • Collaborate closely with supply chain, logistics, procurement, finance, and business teams to support seamless import and export operations.
  • Promote compliance with company policies, customs regulations, and applicable Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) standards.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A qualification in Port and Shipping Administration will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4–8 years of relevant experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding, or import and export operations.
  • Experience within the telecommunications industry will be highly preferred.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, customs systems, tariff classification, valuation rules, and import/export compliance.
  • Sound understanding of international trade procedures and customs documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and reporting tools.
