Director, Information and Communication Technology (Full-Time)

Job Summary

The University invites applications from highly qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Director, Information and Communication Technology. The successful candidate will lead the University’s IT strategy, drive digital transformation, and ensure the delivery of secure, efficient, and innovative technology services across all campuses.


Key Responsibilities

The Director will:

  • Develop and implement IT policies, programmers, and schedules, including privacy and security frameworks for academic and administrative systems
  • Lead the design, development, and execution of the University’s IT strategic plans
  • Provide leadership in building and sustaining a progressive IT environment across the University and its satellite campuses
  • Oversee IT investments and advise senior management on system upgrades, integration, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Design and implement robust IT architecture, technology standards, and best practices
  • Ensure the deployment and maintenance of reliable IT infrastructure, including networks, applications, storage systems, servers, and security systems
  • Collaborate with University Management on the implementation of new systems and enhancements to existing applications
  • Ensure efficient data capture, storage, processing, and communication systems across the institution

Qualification Required & Experience

Applicants must:

  • Hold an MBA, MSc, MPhil, or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Management Information Systems, or a related field
  • Be a member in good standing of a recognized professional IT or related body
  • Have served as a Deputy Director in a university or similar institution
  • Have at least ten (10) years of post-qualification experience as a Senior Member
  • Demonstrate strong leadership in IT governance, infrastructure, and digital transformation

Tenure of Office

This is a full-time position with an initial term of three (3) years, renewable for one additional term of three (3) years, subject to statutory retirement regulations.
