We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Dozer Operator to join our mining operations team and contribute to safe and efficient production activities.

Position Summary

The Dozer Operator will operate heavy-duty dozers to support open pit mining operations safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will perform earthmoving activities, maintain equipment operating standards, conduct routine inspections, and contribute to achieving production targets while promoting a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Operations

• Operate dozers safely and efficiently to support mining, waste removal, road construction, stockpile management, and land preparation activities.
• Perform earthmoving tasks in accordance with mine plans and operational requirements.
• Ensure equipment is operated within manufacturer specifications and company operating procedures.
• Maintain productivity while minimizing equipment wear and fuel consumption.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures at all times.
• Conduct pre-start and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe and ready for operation.
• Identify, report, and respond promptly to unsafe conditions, equipment defects, and workplace hazards.
• Comply with all Newmont safety standards and Minerals Commission regulations.

Equipment Care

• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance checks.
• Report mechanical faults and coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure timely repairs.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and operational readiness.

Operational Support

• Work closely with supervisors and other equipment operators to achieve production targets.
• Support road maintenance, bench preparation, dumping activities, and other mining operations as assigned.
• Maintain accurate operational records and complete required reports.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must possess:

• Senior High School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• A valid Minerals Commission Operator’s Licence.
• A valid Driver’s Licence (Class E).
• Good knowledge and practical understanding of dozer operations.
• General knowledge of heavy earthmoving equipment and mining operations.
• A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of dozer operating experience in an open pit mining environment.
