We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented DVLA Officer to manage vehicle registration, licensing, documentation, and regulatory compliance processes.

The successful candidate will serve as the key liaison between Zonda Tec Ghana Ltd. and regulatory institutions, including the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Customs Division, and other relevant agencies, ensuring efficient vehicle clearance and registration processes.


Position Overview

Job Title: DVLA Officer
Department: Operations / Compliance

Role Purpose

The DVLA Officer will manage the complete vehicle registration and documentation process for vehicles assembled, imported, or sold by Zonda Tec Ghana Ltd. You will ensure timely approvals, regulatory compliance, accurate documentation, and efficient coordination with government agencies to minimize delays, demurrage costs, and operational risks.


Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Manage the registration and issuance of number plates for newly assembled light-duty vehicles, heavy-duty vehicles, and heavy-duty equipment sold to customers.
  • Process vehicle license renewals and roadworthiness certificates for company fleet vehicles and customer vehicles undergoing servicing.
  • Ensure all vehicles comply with Ghanaian requirements relating to chassis numbers, engine numbers, emissions, and weight classifications.
  • Prepare and submit DVLA documentation, including customized registrations, ownership transfers, and duplicate documents.
  • Coordinate vehicle inspections, valuations, stamp duty assessments, and registration fee processing with DVLA.
  • Verify vehicle identification numbers (VINs), chassis numbers, and supporting shipping documents before registration submission.
  • Ensure imported goods receive accurate Harmonized System (HS) Code classification to prevent unnecessary duties, penalties, or delays.
  • Work closely with clearing agents to facilitate timely container release and reduce demurrage and storage charges.
  • Represent Zonda Tec Ghana Ltd. during DVLA inspections, audits, and compliance assessments.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of DVLA regulations, Ghana traffic laws, customs procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide management with updates and recommendations on regulatory changes affecting operations.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with DVLA officials, GRA/Customs officers, and relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain accurate digital and physical records of vehicle registrations, customs clearances, licensing schedules, and compliance documents.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Additional certification in Customs Procedures, Clearing and Forwarding, or related areas (such as IFC or GRA Customs Certification) will be an advantage.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in vehicle registration, compliance, logistics, automotive operations, manufacturing, or clearing and forwarding.
  • Proven experience working with DVLA, GRA Customs Division, and Tema Port clearing processes.
  • Practical experience handling registration and clearance processes for heavy-duty vehicles and earthmoving equipment is highly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

Regulatory Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of Ghana’s Road Traffic Regulations, DVLA procedures, and Customs processes.

Attention to Detail

  • Ability to accurately verify VINs, chassis numbers, vehicle documentation, and compliance records.

Negotiation & Coordination Skills

  • Ability to coordinate effectively with government agencies, clearing agents, and service providers to resolve issues and accelerate processes.

Digital & Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
  • Experience using DVLA online platforms and GRA electronic submission systems.

Communication Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of local languages will be an added advantage.

  • Demonstrates honesty, transparency, confidentiality, and accountability when handling official documents and financial-related processes.
