Key Responsibilities Electrical Installation & Maintenance

• Interpret electrical blueprints, sketches, technical drawings, and specifications to determine wiring layouts and equipment placement.
• Install electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, and components according to project requirements and applicable electrical codes.
• Install and maintain electrical panels, switches, transformers, generators, and other electrical systems.
• Install conduits, pull insulated wires and cables, and complete electrical circuits within walls, partitions, and concealed areas.
• Perform electrical installations and repairs using appropriate tools, equipment, and testing instruments.
• Work safely on ladders, scaffolds, and elevated areas when installing, maintaining, or repairing electrical systems.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations and approved standards.

Troubleshooting & Preventive Maintenance

• Diagnose electrical faults and perform effective repairs to restore system functionality.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance on electrical systems to reduce failures and improve reliability.
• Test electrical systems using equipment such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, test lamps, and other diagnostic tools.
• Identify potential electrical issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.

Technical Support & Specialised Installations

• Support the installation and maintenance of electrical security systems, including CCTV cameras, access control systems, and electric fencing.
• Install and maintain fire alarm systems, including conventional and addressable systems.
• Support solar power systems and UPS backup power installations.
• Provide technical guidance and support during electrical projects and service activities.

Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must possess:

• HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A valid Energy Commission licence in good standing.
• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience working as an Electrical Technician.
• Practical experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, components, and testing equipment.
• Experience working in commercial and residential electrical environments.
• Experience with CCTV, access control, electric fence, fire alarm, solar, and UPS systems will be an advantage.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Commitment to workplace safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills and professional work attitude.
• Physical ability to work in demanding environments and complete technical tasks safely.

Working Conditions

• This is a field-based role requiring travel to client locations and project sites.
• The position may require weekend work, extended hours, or flexibility based on project requirements.
• The role involves working in different environments, including commercial, residential, and industrial locations.
