Role Overview:
The Electrician will perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial electrical systems. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with safety-conscious practices and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing to the smooth operation of mining activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct corrective, preventive, and shutdown maintenance on electrical systems.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical faults to minimize downtime.
Read, interpret, and apply engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
Maintain safe and efficient operation of electrical systems during 12-hour shifts.
Identify, report, and rectify electrical hazards promptly to ensure a safe work environment.
Prepare clear and concise end-of-shift reports detailing maintenance activities.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues, providing guidance and support where needed.
Evaluate and recommend improvements to maintenance schedules, procedures, and practices.
Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards and foster a strong safety culture.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, or Technician II/III in a related technical field.
Relevant Trade Certification in Electrical or Electromechanical disciplines.
Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within the mining industry.
Proven experience with industrial electrical systems, maintenance scheduling, and shift work.
Strong analytical skills for interpreting electrical circuits and technical drawings.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and multitasking skills.
Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
