Elementary Assistant Principal (Full-Time)

Location: East Legon, Accra, Ghana

We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative Elementary Assistant Principal to support the leadership of our Elementary School and contribute to a culture of excellence in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Elementary Principal in the day-to-day leadership and administration of the Elementary School.
  • Promote high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement through instructional leadership and teacher support.
  • Assist in supervising, mentoring, and evaluating faculty to foster continuous professional growth and instructional excellence.
  • Help create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive school environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of every student.
  • Coordinate student discipline and behavior management in accordance with school policies while promoting positive student conduct.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to address student needs and enhance learning outcomes.
  • Assist in curriculum implementation, assessment practices, and school improvement initiatives aligned with American, International, or IB standards where applicable.
  • Support the planning and coordination of school events, professional development activities, and extracurricular programs.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, accreditation standards, safeguarding requirements, and relevant educational regulations.
  • Represent the school professionally and uphold its Christian mission, vision, and values in all interactions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject area. A postgraduate qualification in Educational Leadership, School Administration, or a related field will be an added advantage.
  • Valid teaching certification or professional teaching licence.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience, with prior leadership or supervisory experience in an elementary or primary school setting preferred.
  • Experience with American, International, or International Baccalaureate (IB) curricula and standards is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of instructional leadership, curriculum development, and school improvement practices.

  • Strong instructional leadership and classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and motivate teachers to achieve high performance.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider school community.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.
  • Commitment to Christian values and faith-based education.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and educational technology tools.
