The Opportunity
Baker Hughes is seeking motivated and ambitious individuals to join our Emerging Talent – AMO Services Specialist Internship Program in Accra. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, work on impactful projects, and collaborate with experienced professionals across a global organisation.
As an intern, you will develop technical and professional skills while contributing to operational excellence and innovative business solutions within the AMO Services function.
Key Responsibilities
As an AMO Services Specialist Intern, you will:
- Complete internal projects that support customer outcomes and drive business improvements.
- Learn and utilise internal software systems to support project execution and operational tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and fellow interns while building relationships with global business leaders.
- Apply Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures in all activities to ensure compliance and workplace safety.
- Support operational and technical initiatives related to industrial automation and engineering processes.
- Participate in learning and development activities designed to enhance technical, analytical, and professional capabilities.
- Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to improve processes and operational performance.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field within the last two (2) years.
- Have maintained a GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or equivalent academic performance in your country.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Be legally authorised to work in Ghana without company sponsorship or work restrictions.
- Possess a basic understanding of PLC programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or Function Block Diagram.
- Have familiarity with SCADA concepts and industrial communication protocols.
- Demonstrate a strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn industrial automation tools and technologies.
- Show the ability to work effectively both independently and within collaborative teams.
