Role Summary

We are seeking a proactive Environmental Assistant to support environmental monitoring, compliance, and sustainability initiatives at our Bibiani site. You will play a key role in ensuring that operations meet regulatory standards while promoting environmentally responsible practices across the site.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental monitoring activities including sampling, data collection, and site inspections
  • Support compliance with Ghanaian environmental regulations and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements
  • Assist in preparing environmental reports and documentation
  • Monitor waste management practices and support pollution prevention initiatives
  • Identify environmental risks and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate environmental records and monitoring data
  • Support environmental audits and inspections
  • Collaborate with internal teams to promote environmental awareness and best practices

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental-related discipline
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in environmental monitoring, compliance, or management within mining or industrial operations
  • OR a minimum of five (5) years’ relevant practical field experience in environmental monitoring/management in lieu of formal qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Ghanaian environmental legislation and EPA regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in environmental monitoring techniques, data analysis, and reporting
  • Good understanding of waste management, pollution control, and sustainability practices
  • Strong analytical, observational, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work effectively in field-based conditions
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • High level of integrity, safety awareness, and professionalism
