We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented, and strategic Estate Manager (Oil Palm) to oversee estate operations and drive sustainable plantation performance. Key Responsibilities

Estate Operations

  • Implement the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operational policies, and management guidelines.
  • Manage estate maintenance activities to ensure healthy crop development and optimum plantation performance.
  • Oversee all harvesting operations through to the delivery of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) to the mill, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily field operations, including planting, weeding, pruning, crop maintenance, and harvesting to achieve production targets.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and effective workforce deployment to meet operational objectives.
  • Monitor productivity and implement initiatives that improve crop yield, operational efficiency, and estate performance.
  • Promote the prudent use of materials, equipment, and other estate resources.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop field supervisors and operational teams to build a competent and high-performing workforce.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
  • Support succession planning and workforce development to ensure continuity of operations.

Planning, Budgeting & Reporting

  • Support the Plantations Manager in preparing the annual estate budget and manage operations within approved budgetary limits.
  • Monitor operational expenditure and ensure efficient utilization of financial and material resources.
  • Prepare and submit accurate daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reports as required by Management.
  • Perform any other lawful duties assigned by the Plantations Manager or General Manager.

Health, Safety, Environmental & Compliance

  • Ensure all estate operations comply with Company Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), RSPO, ISO 14001:2015, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring employees use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices.
  • Ensure environmental aspects, including waste management and sustainability initiatives, are effectively managed.
  • Report and investigate unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and environmental concerns while implementing corrective actions.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings, safety training programmes, emergency preparedness activities, and incident investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental management systems and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must possess:

  • A Master’s Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of twelve (12) years’ professional experience managing a section, estate, or department within an organisation.
  • At least seven (7) years’ proven experience in oil palm plantation management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale agricultural operations and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Technical Competencies

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong knowledge of oil palm plantation management, including planting, crop maintenance, harvesting, and field operations.
  • Good understanding of agro-industrial operations and plantation management practices.
  • Knowledge of agricultural labour legislation, industrial safety standards, and environmental certification frameworks, including RSPO.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and spreadsheets.
  • Strong people management, planning, budgeting, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to analyse operational data and implement performance improvement initiatives.
