Role Purpose
The Fine Art Teacher delivers high-quality Art education aligned with the Cambridge curriculum. The role develops students’ creativity, technical proficiency, and critical appreciation of art while preparing them for success in Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Fine Art lessons aligned with Cambridge curriculum standards.
- Create a classroom environment that encourages creativity, confidence, experimentation, and collaboration.
- Develop students’ technical skills across a wide range of artistic media, tools, and techniques.
- Prepare learners effectively for Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level Art examinations through structured guidance and assessment.
- Integrate art history, theory, and contemporary practices into practical lessons to deepen understanding.
- Guide students in developing individual portfolios that demonstrate artistic growth and creativity.
- Design differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support interdisciplinary and project-based learning.
- Lead and support students in art competitions, exhibitions, showcases, and creative school events.
- Maintain and manage art studios, materials, tools, and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Engage parents and guardians regularly on students’ artistic progress and achievements.
- Contribute actively to extracurricular art programmes and school-wide cultural activities.
- Participate in professional development and support continuous improvement within the school community.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Education (Fine Art option) is required.
- Master’s degree in Art or a related field is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience in Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level Art.
- Proven track record of student success in Cambridge examinations.
- Cambridge curriculum teaching certification is desirable.
- Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning.
- Experience using educational technology and digital art tools is an added advantage.
