Food Nutrition Officer (Full-Time)

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and results-oriented Food Nutrition Officer to join our team in Accra. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to nutrition programmes, promote healthy eating practices, and support organizational initiatives that improve nutritional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess the nutritional needs of individuals, groups, or programme beneficiaries and develop appropriate nutrition interventions.
• Develop and implement nutrition education programmes that promote healthy eating habits and lifestyle practices.
• Provide evidence-based nutrition counselling and dietary guidance to clients, staff, or programme participants.
• Design balanced meal plans and provide recommendations that align with nutritional requirements and organizational standards.
• Monitor and evaluate nutrition programmes to assess effectiveness and recommend improvements.
• Conduct nutrition assessments, collect relevant data, and prepare technical reports to support programme planning and decision-making.
• Promote food safety, hygiene, and quality standards in food preparation and handling.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, healthcare professionals, educators, and community stakeholders to deliver integrated nutrition services.
• Support health promotion campaigns, outreach activities, and community education initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards.
• Stay informed on current nutrition research, public health guidelines, and industry best practices.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management within the scope of the role.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Public Health Nutrition, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 2–5 years’ relevant professional experience in nutrition, dietetics, community health, food service management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of nutrition assessment, meal planning, food safety, and health promotion principles.
• Strong analytical, communication, counselling, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience preparing reports, managing nutrition data, and monitoring programme outcomes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to ethical practice.
