We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic professional to join our Corporate Banking leadership team as Head, Large Business. The successful candidate will lead the Bank’s Large Business portfolio, drive sustainable growth, strengthen client relationships, and ensure superior financial performance across high-value corporate accounts.


Role Purpose

The Head, Large Business will provide strategic leadership for the Large Business segment by managing key corporate relationships, growing a high-value portfolio, and ensuring the delivery of tailored financial solutions. The role holder will drive revenue growth, maintain strong asset quality, and lead a high-performing team to deliver exceptional service and long-term value for the Bank and its clients.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the Bank’s Large Business portfolio.

  • Drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and market share within the corporate segment.

  • Align the Large Business strategy with the Bank’s overall corporate and commercial banking objectives.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with high-value corporate clients and key stakeholders.

  • Provide tailored financial solutions to meet complex client needs across lending, trade finance, treasury, and cash management.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within priority sectors.

Credit & Risk Management

  • Lead credit structuring, analysis, and approval processes for large corporate transactions.

  • Ensure adherence to the Bank’s credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.

  • Maintain a high-quality portfolio through proactive risk monitoring and mitigation strategies.

Business Development

  • Identify opportunities to expand revenue streams through cross-selling and integrated financial solutions.

  • Analyze industry trends, competitive dynamics, and sector developments to inform business strategy.

  • Strengthen the Bank’s market position in the Large Business segment.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for managing large corporate clients.

  • Set clear performance goals, monitor outcomes, and provide coaching to achieve business targets.

  • Foster collaboration across internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.


Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.

  • A Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Banking, or a related field will be an added advantage.

  • Relevant professional certifications such as ACCA, CFA, CIB, MBA, or equivalent are preferred.


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 10–12 years’ experience in Business or Corporate Banking.

  • At least 7 years in a leadership or supervisory role, managing teams and large corporate portfolios.

  • Proven track record in managing high-value corporate clients and complex banking relationships.

  • Demonstrated success in credit structuring, relationship management, and business growth.

  • Strong history of delivering financial performance, portfolio quality, and service excellence.


Technical / Industry-Specific Competencies

  • Deep understanding of Corporate and Business Banking products including lending, trade finance, treasury, and cash management.

  • Strong credit analysis, credit structuring, and risk assessment capabilities.

  • In-depth understanding of key industries served by large corporate clients.

  • Ability to analyze industry trends, competitive dynamics, and economic cycles.

  • Knowledge of sector-specific financial drivers and regulatory frameworks.

  • Understanding of business strategy and performance implications for market success.

  • Familiarity with best operating practices and market standards in Business Banking and Human Resource collaboration.


Managerial Competencies

  • Strong relationship management and client engagement skills.

  • Ability to plan team goals, manage performance, and coach employees effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage group dynamics.

  • Experience participating in senior management decision-making processes.


Specialist Knowledge

  • Broad understanding of banking products and financial services tailored for large businesses.

  • Ability to assess product profitability, operational implications, and strategic value.

  • Strong cross-selling capabilities and the ability to identify integrated banking solutions.


Communication & Relationship Facilitation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interpreting and explaining financial data.

  • Ability to prepare and present business cases, proposals, and market insights to executive stakeholders.

  • Skilled at presentations, negotiations, and facilitating strategic discussions.
