Role Overview

The Head of Education provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for EduSpots’ Education Hub. You will guide the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of educational programmes, ensuring high-quality, inclusive, and impactful learning experiences. This role combines team leadership, curriculum innovation, partnership development, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and community-led education.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Programme Management

You will:

  • Lead the day-to-day management of the Education Hub, supervising programme coordinators and technical specialists
  • Oversee delivery of community-based learning programmes reaching hundreds of volunteer-led clubs
  • Provide strategic direction and continuous feedback to strengthen programme quality and impact
  • Contribute to organisational leadership and strategic decision-making

Curriculum & Learning Innovation

You will:

  • Oversee curriculum development across literacy, digital skills, STEM, environmental sustainability, gender equity, and safeguarding
  • Embed core pedagogical principles, including inclusive, creative, and community-connected learning
  • Drive innovation in educational delivery through initiatives such as digital learning tools, mobile platforms, and online courses
  • Support the development of engaging learning resources, including guides, animations, and training materials

Digital Learning & Content Development

You will:

  • Support the development and enhancement of digital platforms such as learning apps, online courses, and mobile learning tools
  • Contribute to leadership and volunteer training programmes through content design and delivery
  • Promote the effective use of digital tools (e.g., virtual platforms and messaging tools) to enhance learning outcomes

Safeguarding, Inclusion & Quality Assurance

You will:

  • Ensure safeguarding, child protection, and inclusion are embedded across all programmes
  • Oversee the development and implementation of safety-focused educational initiatives
  • Strengthen systems for monitoring, evaluation, and learning to improve programme effectiveness

Team Leadership & Capacity Building

You will:

  • Lead professional development, performance management, and appraisals for education staff
  • Inspire and support teams to deliver high-quality, impactful education programmes
  • Build capacity among volunteers and staff to strengthen programme delivery

Partnerships & Reporting

You will:

  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships with educational stakeholders, donors, and institutions
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to expand funding and partnership opportunities
  • Oversee reporting to funders and stakeholders, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in education management, including team leadership
  • Strong experience in curriculum design, programme development, and educational resource creation
  • Demonstrated expertise in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL)
  • Proven ability to use digital tools to enhance educational delivery
  • Experience working with volunteers and community-based education programmes
  • Strong facilitation and training skills, with the ability to inspire diverse audiences
  • Experience delivering online education using platforms such as Zoom, WhatsApp, or similar tools
  • Strong IT and digital literacy skills

Desirable

  • Master’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Experience working in multicultural or international teams
  • Prior volunteer experience and a commitment to community development
