Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled professional who will lead HSE training initiatives while ensuring accurate and compliant documentation management. The ideal candidate will combine strong training delivery capabilities with excellent organizational and document control expertise to support safety performance across the site.
Key Responsibilities
As an HSE Trainer / Document Controller, you will:
- Design, deliver, and evaluate HSE induction, refresher, and specialized training programmes.
- Develop and maintain training materials, records, and competency registers.
- Coordinate internal and external training activities and safety awareness campaigns.
- Ensure strict adherence to company health and safety standards and promote best practices.
- Control and manage all HSE documentation, ensuring proper version control and accessibility.
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Collaborate with HSE teams to identify training needs and improve overall safety performance.
- Ensure employees and contractors are adequately trained and competent to work safely.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives across HSE systems and practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Education, Experience & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Occupational Health & Safety, Education, or a related field.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) is desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HSE training and document control within mining or industrial environments.
- Must possess a Minerals Commission Certificate of Competency.
- Valid Ghanaian Class B Driver’s License.
- Strong knowledge of training methodologies and adult learning principles.
- Proficiency in document management systems and record-keeping practices.
- Good understanding of HSE legislation and safety management systems.
