Information Technology (IT) Coordinator

Location: Accra, Ghana
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Information Technology (IT) Coordinator to support our technology infrastructure and ensure reliable, secure, and efficient IT services that enable our programmes and operations.

Role Purpose

The Information Technology (IT) Coordinator will oversee the delivery, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organisation’s IT infrastructure, systems, and support services. The successful candidate will ensure business continuity, strengthen information security, provide technical support to users, and contribute to the effective use of technology across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure & Operations

  • Develop and implement IT operational plans that support the continuous delivery of information and communication technology (ICT) services.
  • Maintain reliable IT infrastructure, business applications, network connectivity, and telecommunications systems.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively maintain hardware, software, and network resources to minimise downtime.
  • Recommend ICT infrastructure improvements that align with corporate standards and business continuity requirements.
  • Maintain agreed service levels and ensure high-quality IT service delivery across the organisation.

Business Continuity & Information Security

  • Develop, implement, and maintain ICT disaster recovery plans as part of the organisation’s business continuity framework.
  • Ensure the timely restoration of ICT services in the event of system failures or disasters.
  • Implement and maintain information security controls, user access management, and system security measures.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate ICT policies, information security standards, and organisational procedures.
  • Promote the secure and responsible use of technology across the organisation.

IT Support & Service Delivery

  • Provide timely first-line technical support and resolve user hardware, software, network, and application issues.
  • Coordinate the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment and business applications.
  • Monitor service requests and ensure prompt resolution in line with agreed service levels.
  • Support programme implementation through effective IT solutions and information management systems.

User Capacity Building

  • Build staff capacity by delivering user training and promoting effective use of organisational technologies.
  • Provide technical guidance to staff and support digital skills development initiatives.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Collaboration & Compliance

  • Work closely with internal teams and external service providers to deliver reliable ICT services.
  • Support compliance with safeguarding policies and organisational standards.
  • Perform additional ICT-related duties that support organisational objectives and programme delivery.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant professional experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or technical support.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and managing LAN/WAN infrastructure and telecommunications networks.
  • Proven experience administering Microsoft Server environments, SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise systems.
  • Experience implementing, managing, and supporting organisational information systems and ICT solutions.
  • Strong understanding of IT service management, business continuity, and information security practices.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of enterprise network infrastructure and systems administration.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Server environments, Active Directory, SQL Server, Exchange, and Microsoft 365.
  • Knowledge of ICT disaster recovery planning and business continuity management.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, access management, and information security controls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network environments.
